A Christmas Home Tour

In past years, the Women's Ministry has had a Christmas Tour of Homes, where we went to about 4 different homes to see all their beautiful Christmas decorations.  This year, since we did the treat swap instead, I thought you might enjoy seeing Ruth Lancaster's home through pictures.  You might even pick up a few ideas to incorporate in your home.

Ruth definitely has a green thumb.  She is a member of a garden club, so she has a knack for making even the outside of her home look lovely.  She incorporates greenery with red berries and lots of ribbons and bows. You'll notice some of these pictures were taken on the day it snowed.

As you walk into Ruth's home, you immediately notice the nativity scene in her foyer.  In fact, Ruth has a nativity in almost every room of her home, a beautiful testimony of her faith. Also, notice the crown and cross wreath hangar on the back of her door.

Next is the dining room, where another beautiful nativity sits on the buffet.  This room also incorporates a theme of angels.

As you enter the den, the large Christmas tree catches your attention as well as the greenery taken from outside.  And once again, a lovely nativity is front and center.

The kitchen and breakfast room are cheery and inviting.  The table is set with whimsical Christmas dishes that just seem to set the atmosphere for a birthday party for Jesus.

Many people would stop decorating here, but Ruth takes her decorations into every bedroom and even the bathrooms.  Each room is a Christmas Wonderland!

Well, I know what I'm doing next year...maybe even this year.  Go back and look at all the pictures again, this time looking only for sprigs of pine needles.  She used them to enhance so many things! My entire back border between my house and my neighbor's is lined with pine trees!  I think I'll go get some sprigs right now and strategically position them in my decorations.
