The Good Shepherd
Today's passage is Luke 2:8-20. We read about how the angels appeared in the sky to tell the shepherds that Jesus had been born. It must have been terrifying to see the sky lit up with a host of angels! We also read John 10 and learned that Jesus calls himself the Good Shepherd. How fitting that the first people told about Christ's birth were a picture of how He would later take care of us. He is the shepherd and we are his sheep. We talked about what the responsibilities are of a shepherd and how Christ does those same things for us. Our ornament today is a sheep.
