MARINATED GREEN BEANS by Brenda Riden

This is a recipe my Care Group enjoys. I received it by way of Jackie Davis.

Marinated Green Beans

1 - 28 oz. can of flat Italian poke beans, drained (Allen’s)
1 cup brown sugar
½ cup apple cider vinegar
1 onion, chopped
6 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled

I like to marinate the beans, sugar, vinegar, and onions in a zip lock bag for several hours - even overnight. As you think of it, go to frig and move beans around in bag to get everything covered.

Put all ingredients including the bacon in the baking dish (at least 8x8 or 9x13). Bake at 350 degrees for at least an hour. It helps to give them a stir a couple of times during the cooking. The longer they cook the better. I usually bake at 325 degrees for at least 2 hours.

Good recipe to make up the night or morning before and let them marinate overnight.

ENJOY! They are yummy!
