BREAKFAST LASAGNA by Saundra Stroud

The holiday season is coming upon us very quickly.  It is so nice to have an easy breakfast recipe that is quick and simple to fix.  This is prepared in a 9x13 or 10x13 dish, so it easily feeds a good-sized crowd.  Be warned, though, it is very rich.

BREAKFAST LASAGNA

1 cup sour cream
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 pkgs. (9 oz each) frozen french toast
1/2 lb. thinly sliced ham
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
1 can apple pie filling
1 cup granola with raisins

1.  Blend sour cream & brown sugar together; chill until serving time.
2.  Place 6 french toast slices in a greased 9x13 or 10x13 baking pan.
3.  Layer ham, 1 1/2 cups cheese & remaining 6 slices of French toast in pan.
4.  Spread with apple pie filling.
5.  Sprinkle with granola.

Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 25 minutes.  Top with remaining cheese and bake 5 more minutes or until cheese is melted.

Serve with sour cream mixture.

Refrigerate any leftovers.

  1. I made this today and took it to church for breakfast. This is very, very good! It's got a little of everything - sweet and savory and tangy and crunchy and the topping is surprising! Who ever would have put sour cream and brown sugar together? I will make this again. Thanks for sharing. :)
