NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION #3

This week just days before January 1, 2012, we’ve been talking about making New Year’s Resolutions.  We’ve talked about reading our Bibles daily and surrendering to God so that He can change us from the inside out.

Today, Resolution #3 is REMEMBER.

1.  Remember when Jesus brought you out of the bondage of sin.  Remember when you were saved.  “And Moses said to the people: "Remember this day in which you went out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the Lord brought you out of this place.”  Ex. 13:3

2.  Remember to go to church. “Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.” Ex. 20:8

3. Remember to trust God for every need. Not your education, your job, your bank account, your nationality, your own strength.  “ You may say to yourself, ‘My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.’ But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth.” Deut. 8:17-18    “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.” Psalm 20:7

4.  Remember what God did in the past. “I will remember the works of the Lord; Surely I will remember Your wonders of old. I will also meditate on all Your work, and talk of Your deeds. Your way, O God, is in the sanctuary; who is so great a God as our God? You are the God who does wonders…” Psalm 77:11-14

5.  Remember when you loved Jesus. Repent and return to Him. “Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken your first love. Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first.” Revelation 2:4-5

6.  Remember that your salvation demands obedience, not just lip service. Obey and repent. "I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your deeds complete in the sight of my God. Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it, and repent.”  Revelation 3:1-3
