The holiday season is coming upon us very quickly. It is so nice to have an easy breakfast recipe that is quick and simple to fix. This is prepared in a 9x13 or 10x13 dish, so it easily feeds a good-sized crowd. Be warned, though, it is very rich.
BREAKFAST LASAGNA
1 cup sour cream
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 pkgs. (9 oz each) frozen french toast
1/2 lb. thinly sliced ham
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
1 can apple pie filling
1 cup granola with raisins
1. Blend sour cream & brown sugar together; chill until serving time.
2. Place 6 french toast slices in a greased 9x13 or 10x13 baking pan.
3. Layer ham, 1 1/2 cups cheese & remaining 6 slices of French toast in pan.
4. Spread with apple pie filling.
5. Sprinkle with granola.
Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 25 minutes. Top with remaining cheese and bake 5 more minutes or until cheese is melted.
Serve with sour cream mixture.
Refrigerate any leftovers.
I made this today and took it to church for breakfast. This is very, very good! It's got a little of everything - sweet and savory and tangy and crunchy and the topping is surprising! Who ever would have put sour cream and brown sugar together? I will make this again. Thanks for sharing. :)
