The following thought is from Nichole Wright.  She and her husband Chris are members of our church, and are missionaries with NICS (Network of International Christian Schools) in Accra, Ghana.  She and her husband have 5 children.  Nichole teaches British Literature to Seniors at their school.

I was telling Chris last night that we often wonder or ask the question "God what is it to really surrender my life to you, to give up my best so that you can give me the better?" It occurred to me shortly after that we hang onto the lifestyle we have because we believe it is neither good nor bad....just better. We fear that the sacrifice of what God asks of us is to give up our desires realizing not that it is like a child hanging from a window pane trying to escape the fiery room in front of him. He can hear the people down below screaming "let go!" but he can see nothing but the pavement which he fears more than the fire. We all know it requires faith to let go but what we fail to realize as we hang in the balance is that Life for the child hanging is in letting go.
