WORD FOR THE WEEK

"Why do the wicked live on,
growing old and increasing in power?
They see their children established around them,
their offspring before their eyes.
Their homes are safe and free from fear;
the rod of God is not upon them.
Their bulls never fail to breed;
their cows calve and do not miscarry.
They send forth their children as a flock;
their little ones dance about.
They spend their years in prosperity
and go down to the grave in peace.
Yet they say to God,
'Leave us alone!
We have no desire to know your ways.'"
Job 21:7-11, 13-14

Do you, like Job, ever find yourself saying, "IT'S JUST NOT FAIR!"?

It's pretty easy for us to put our eyes on what others are doing and getting away with. I've found I have to intentionally look back to God and His Word to get my heart right again.

Do not fret because of evil men
or be envious of those who do wrong;
for like grass they will soon wither,
like green plants they will soon die away.
Trust in the Lord and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Delight yourself in the Lord
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him and he will do this:
He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when men succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.
Psalm 37:1-7
